The Covenant House is national organization dedicated to helping homeless youth.  The Covenant House of Pennsylvania (CHPA) was established in Philadelphia in 1999. CHPA serves homeless, runaway and at-risk youth with absolute respect and unconditional love.  Convent House is the largest private child welfare agency in the Delaware Valley.  Over the years CHPA has grown to provide a full spectrum of programs.

Programs include:

  • Outreach Programs which included a Street Outreach program where staff members contact youth and offer services to get them to leave the streets.  Their second outreach program is a Community Outreach Center, located on Kensington Ave.  This community center allows youth to come in for services such as food, clothing, a shower, laundry as well as medical, counseling and referrals.
  • Rights to Passage: This program is a transitional living program for young adults.  The goal of the program is to help young adults acquire the skills they need to become self-sufficient.  The Rights to Passage program also offers subsidized apartments for youth transitioning into adulthood.
  • The Covenant House also provides substance abuse counseling, educational assistance, and job placement and skills training at their Community Service Center.

If you would like to help the Covenant House please use this link to see the many ways that you can become involved.  At the very least they are always in need of clothes, diapers, baby wipes, gently worn suits for men and women and much more.  Be sure to check out their wish list for more items.

Supporting organizations like Covenant House and the Philadelphia Children’s Foundation allow us to bring the much needed services to the youth of the city.  Not only do we thank you, but the youth of Delaware County will be even more appreciative.
