PCF Programs
Career Bus
Aboard the Career Bus, elementary school students will read books, watch videos, play with dioramas, and explore other associated media on various occupations. The bus will visit various locations in Philadelphia, including schools, after-school programs, camps, recreation centers, and playgrounds. Children will have the opportunity at an early age to discover career interests and begin thinking about how to achieve their career goals.

Career Shadowing Program
PCF will partner with various professionals and organizations that will list shadowing opportunities on our resource website, and host career shadowing fairs for students in grades 6-12. Students will view these prospects and choose an opportunity that best suits their interests.

Vo-Tech School Tour
Students in the 10th grade will participate on a 3-day tour of vocational and technical schools in the Philadelphia metro area, including Connecticut School of Broadcasting, PJA School, Antonellie Institute, and Aviation School of Maintenance. The purpose of this program is to educate students on the various options available to them after high school, including alternatives to the traditional college education.

Resource Fair
Resource Fairs will be held annually throughout Philadelphia's various neighborhoods to increase public awareness and accessibility to the city's resources, particularly those resources that serve and are located in the neighborhood in which the fair is being held. There will also be free activities for young people, as well as fun, music and community unity.

Life Through the Lens
This 2-month, biweekly photography seminar will be open to 15 high school students at a time. The students will wok closely with the instructors to develop a gallery of work that will be displayed on a photo sharing website upon completion of the program. This program will enable young people to express their creativity, gain a sense of personal accomplishment and learn about associated career paths.

Special Needs Web Section
PCF is in the process of developing a section on our website dedicated to the special needs students, parents, and teachers of the Philadelphia area. This web section will provide information on all federal, state, and city resources available to special needs students, parents, and teachers. This section is also being designed to act as a catalyst in an effort to build a network of special needs families in the Philadelphia area, so that they can work together to get our special needs students what they need to achieve their goals. This section will also include several online games and activities specifically tailored for special needs students.
