Summer Camps '08

To ensure your child’s safety this summer, why not enroll them in a camp? Provided for you is a list of camps in the Philadelphia area that are currently accepting applications for the coming summer. Each camp listed below pertains to a different field of interest: the arts, music, theater, film, sports, technology, and zoology. Description: “Summer FUNdamentals Art Camps offer enriching, creative experiences for campers in the beautiful galleries, the art studios of the school, and around the city. A variety of different sessions are available to choose from each week including Cartooning, Painting, Circus, Sculpture, Drawing, Wearable Art and much more. Sessions are designed to appeal to all levels and interests of young artists, ages 6 to 15. Weeklong sessions begin July 7 and run through August 15.”

The camp is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced musicians and places no restrictions on a camper's instrument of choice. Description: "Led by Arden's Associate Artistic Director Amy Dugas Brown and taught by working theatre professionals, Arden Summer Camp is filled with all the care, focus and enthusiasm we give to our full-scale productions. Kids take two acting classes a day (one basic class and one specialized class like improv, storytelling or Shakespeare) and at least one design class a day. Each afternoon the kids rehearse for the Camp Show that is presented to parents and families on Saturday! At lunchtime, kids are treated to a special presentation from guest artists who perform for – and sometimes with – them!"
