"The Atwater Kent Museum, located just around the corner fromIndependence Hall and the Liberty Bell, is the gateway to Philadelphiahistory. Founded over 60 years ago as the city's history museum, theAtwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia (AKMP) provides many ways to learnabout the city. School and youth groups use hands-on experiences withhistorical objects. Families discover the city together. Adults findexpertise about their collecting interests and historical issues.National and international visitors gain insight into 21st-centuryurban life and context for important moments in American history. "

1:00 - 5:00 pm, Wednesday - Sunday

Group tours are available at other times.

Admission:

 

Adults $5
Seniors & children 13-17 $3
Members & children 12 and under Free

 

On First Fridays from 5:00 - 8:00 pm the museum is free and open to the public.
